The Basis of a Very Low Calorie Diet

There's no surer way to lose weight than with a very low calorie diet. After all, calories form a big part of the winning weight loss formula. When people want to lose weight, what they essentially have to do is take a look at their calorie formula. We take in calories every single day through the food and beverages we eat and drink. We convert these calories into the energy that we need to do our daily activities, so in every activity that we do, we burn some of these calories. To maintain your present weight, the calories you take in should be equal to the calories you burn. If the calories you take in outweigh the calories you burn considerably, this is how you gain weight. To lose weight you can increase your calorie burning while the calorie intake remains constant. However, if you don't want to change the amount of calories you burn by adding more physical activities to your daily schedule, what you can do is decrease your calorie intake instead. Even if the calorie burning part of the equation remains constant, if you do drastic changes to the calorie intake part then this will lead to weight loss as well.

Aside from this, you also have to remember that a very low calorie diet can also work in conjunction with increased physical activity. This doesn't even have to mean increased hours in the gym or other extraordinary measures, but simple things like walking a farther distance from the parking lot to the mall or taking the staircase instead of the elevator. By targeting both sides of the calorie equation, you tend to achieve weight loss so much faster.
