How to Lose Weight Even at Christmas

Attempting to lose weight like any pursuit of life is challenging; you will surely meet your ups and downs on this journey. Your most disappointing moments usually come in times of festivities, when there is that uncontrollable urge to go on an eating binge. So what should you do in such circumstances?

The first thing to do is to write your weight loss goal somewhere you can often see it; this acts as a reminder that you have a target to meet. You can write it on the door of your bedroom, the door of your fridge or even on the dashboard of your car. This reminder note will keep you in track so that you don't backslide even when the temptation is so great for you do so.

Just because you are in a festive season doesn't mean you should excuse yourself from your exercise regimen. It is known that most people gain extra weight during festive periods such as Christmas. During these times we find so many reasons why we can't continue our dieting plan, why we can't afford to exercise as we use to. Excuses always come to those who want to use them; please don't be one of such people. Remember you've made a commitment to yourself to take off those extra pounds of weight; you can't disappoint yourself and still look yourself in the mirror each morning, can you?

Should you be so strict on your food intake? The answer is no, provided your situation is not a matter of life and death. Sometimes being too strict on something makes you rather vulnerable. Simply because you want to lose weight does not mean that you should say good bye to all food types and only stick to one. It just means you should cultivate a healthy eating habit, minimising the quantity of fats, sugar and perhaps the carbohydrate consumed while increasing your consumption of fruits, vegetables and water. These are natural healers essential for any weight loss programme.

So if you occasionally fail to control your eating, what should you do? I suggest two natural remedies to that situation. Garcinia cambogia extract and green tea are two effective herbs to consider. Garcinia cambogia is a plant from the citrus family. Its sour extract for weight loss management is popularly known as hydroxycitric acid. This natural extract works by ensuring that your body gets the required energy needed. Once this is done, it signals the brain that body has enough energy and hence cuts the urge to continue eating. Hydroxycitric acid essentially regulates your appetite, so that you eat just the right quantity of food your body requires to function normally. There are no known side effects associated with it.

Green tea doesn't regulate your eating as garcinia cambogia extract does, but it increases your body's metabolism rate to expend more energy. The good thing about this natural tea is that it increases metabolism without increasing your heart rate, making it suitable for people with heart conditions. Since more calories are burnt, there is less to be stored as fat. Another added advantage of using green tea is that it contains antioxidants which are needed for boosting your body's immune system against diseases. Green tea is however noted to contain caffeine, so it is not advisable to take it with coffee.

I know how daunting it can be to embark on a weight loss plan, but make the effort especially during the festive period to maintain your discipline and commitment to achieve your weight loss goals. If you can't follow any regimen at all, I believe you can follow the simple points I have given.
