Food provides our bodies with energy by means of metabolism. Metabolism is a chemical reaction that manufactures energy that we use for every minute things from moving, to growing, to thinking. You get these Omega-3 fatty acids by eating foods like tuna, salmon, sardines, walnuts, flax seed and organic eggs. Eating these foods will lower the level of the hormone leptin in your body. Leptin plays an important role in controlling a person's appetite and metabolism. Studies have shown that a person will lose more fat when their leptin levels are low. You can also use a high quality Omega-3 supplement if you don't like any of these wonder-foods to give you a similar effect.

2. Hot Spices: That's correct if you can handle hot food, you can light the fire for up to 3 hours after taking in these spices. Peppers like cayenne and jalapeno contain a substance called capsaicin which has been proven to help get your metabolism moving fast. Capsaicin is what gives them their heat and is what enhances your metabolism.

3. Whole grains: Whole grains help reduce insulin levels. The more elevated your insulin levels are the more your body stores fat, so by keeping your insulin levels reduced your metabolism will work faster and you will be less likely to store fat.

4. Protein: Protein isn't just for bodybuilders it is key for everyone who wants to have a lean, toned body. Foods that are high in protein like eggs, chicken, fish, beans and
lean meats are good for your metabolism. Not only does protein speeds up your metabolism and fuel your muscles but it also stabilizes your blood sugar and produces a hormone that is a natural appetite suppressant which helps you from over eating.

As you can see, dieting isn't all about cutting out the amount of calories that you consume but it's more about consuming the correct kind of food.
