Healthy Eating For Weight Loss Is The Most Effective Way

Healthy eating for weight loss is the most effective and efficient way not only to lose weight (permanently), but to remain healthy. It's a sad fact that most weight loss programmes don't consider your health. Let's examine some of the most popular ways to lose weight, ways which can actually harm you.

1. Weight loss pills. Some are appetite suppressors. These do little for most people because the problem isn't being addressed. It's not your appetite that is the problem, even if you have a big one. Other weight loss pills make you lose water. This makes you feel as if you are losing weight, as the scales tell you a story. But this can be dangerous. Many people are already partially dehydrated. Again, it's not water you need to lose, it's fat tissue.

2. Counting calories can lead you astray. Not only can it be complicated, it can lead you to unhealthy foods. Limiting your calorie intake has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with health. It is likely to make you constantly hungry. If you don't pursue a healthy diet, you will not be able to sustain it. And the weight will return.

3. High protein diets are quite fashionable. They can help you lose weight, but again, at the cost to your health. A high protein diet is detrimental to your long term health, even though it can help you lose weight in the short term. And they can limit your intake of healthy food. Does that make any sense?

4. Diet programmes that supply you with meals do so with invariably small portions. Small portions don't satisfy your body's nutritional needs, leaving you hungry and apt to pick between meals. When you look at some of the popular meals, it's not difficult to see a major flaw in nutritional quality.

5. Bariatric surgery is when a band is surgically placed around your stomach, to limit the amount you can physically eat. Not only are these very expensive (luckily out of the reach of many overweight people), they can be dangerous. They have all the complications inherent with any surgery, and can leave a trail of worsening health, even death, post surgery. Some of the complications include the development of gall stones or a hiatus hernia, gastro intestinal complications such as indigestion, distention, nausea, vomiting, bowel dysfunction. Anaemia can result, you can experience difficulty in swallowing. It's common to become seriously deficient in essential nutrients, leading to worsening health.

In stark contract, when you learn about healthy foods, when you learn which foods are unhealthy and so should be avoided, or at least limited, then you can expect your health to improve along with weight loss.

Being overweight or obese is the product of civilisation. It does not occur naturally. It is as a result of nutritional deficiency. This is the reason you may have a large appetite. Discover how healthy eating for weight loss can give you a permanent solution to two problems.
