Green tea has gained popularity nowadays such that it is now branded as a weight control tea. Looking closely at its chemical properties you will know what is the real score of its effects on a person's body. Let me however tell you from this point ahead that tea alone will not suffice to give you a phenomenal weight loss. One solution of the problem is the use of tea in the diet plan. According to studies from the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, green tea has properties that hasten your weight loss plan. This study compared the weight loss of subjects who drank tea extract daily with those who did not. It was found out that tea drinkers lost more body fat on average than those who did not. Catechin which is found in tea interacts with other chemicals in our body such as caffeine to burn fat. This process is called thermogenesis. With this process, it uses up more energy to burn fats thereby increasing the metabolism of the person.

Aside from this property, green tea has compounds that help the body to destroy free radicals. It serves as an antioxidant to improve health and fight the risk of cancer. Aside from that, it halts the signs of aging. Green tea has been found to aid in the metabolism of lips and glucose. Researches show that tea helps in maintain low levels of blood sugar which makes it an ideal diet aid for diabetics. Green tea also prevents fat storage in the body by blocking dietary fat absorption in the cells.

In addition, green tea can not only be used as an aid to great health but also as an effective weight control tea. Green tea alone cannot guarantee that you will lose a pound every week. The best way still remains diet and exercise. Although tea has properties that hasten the weight loss, the real reason why persons lose weight when on green tea diet is because of the use of exercise and diet.
