Hypnosis in Weight Loss: How to Accelerate Getting Healthy and Fit by Subconscious Reprogramming

There have been so many different weight loss products in the marketplace that will play to emotions of many. Even in hypnosis, there have been outlandish claims of its effectiveness. Like anything else, there is no one size fits all, even in hypnosis. It's only as effective when combined with other programs, like exercise and nutrition. Each will work with another to help increase the effectiveness.

So what is hypnosis?

It's simply an altered state of relaxation that enables the therapist or hypnotist to help induce suggestions a lot easier. The person being hypnotized will be more open to them without the critical area of the mind getting in the way. It is natural and we experience it all the time. For example, when you're driving on the freeway, you may have missed an exit or lost track of time... that's known as environmental hypnosis. We experience it all the time. When we watch a movie and so forth.

Just know that hypnosis is only a tool. And like any tool, it's only as good as the person using it. If you are using it for weight loss, make sure the person helping you is healthy and fit too. You don't want to use someone who is incongruent to what they help others with.

Leading by example is a key to finding the right person. Heck, you should look for it the same way when you find a personal trainer. As with anyone that works with you, make sure that they have your best interest in place. That means that they listen and focus on you.

Some key points to think about:

· Hypnosis alone won't help you out. It's should be used with a structured fitness and nutrition program. That's the only way to true weight loss success.

· If you're dealing with emotional eating, make sure you get someone trained in that area. I would opt for someone trained in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy as part of the overall program.

· Make sure you have complete trust in the hypnotist/therapist. That's vital to a successful hypnosis session. The therapist/hypnotist should be focused on you and your needs.

· Know that it's not a quick fix. Sometimes it will take longer than you expected. I've seen it go as long as year in some cases.

· Your hypnosis sessions should be tailored to meet your needs. Again, it's not a one size fits all proposition. While hypnosis tapes can be effective, it should never supplant personal sessions.

· Take immediate action after each session. You'll get more bangs for the buck when you do. This is part of the acceleration process. Action always trumps just the sessions alone. It puts into your subconscious mind that you are doing it.

· Be consistent about going to your sessions and in taking action. Consistency counts.

I wish you success as you work to reach your weight loss goals. Hypnosis is effective when done right. Now, get out and get fit.

Living an optimal life requires a life that is healthy and fit. Knowing what you need to do in order for that to happen is important. And taking action towards getting healthy and fit is the most important key. People who are successful are always action-oriented. They will simply put into the action the right knowledge for them. That includes getting healthy and fit. For more information and to subscribe to the newsletter, go to
