Water Helps You Lose Weight: Try It!

Being properly hydrated is one of the best things you can do for your health! And I am not talking about guzzling down diet sodas, coffee drinks, vitamin water, Gatorade, and all the other calorie dense garbage out there! I am talking about just plain old filtered water. Yes, and water helps you lose weight, because if you choose it over other things, you can save yourself hundreds of calories a day.

The body has to be in balance, hydration wise, or mental and physical performance will suffer. Daily bodily functions of perspiration, breathing, and others need water to occur. That means for the body to be in balance water has to be replaced on a consistent basis. We are not camels! A loss of one to two percent of the body's water weight can impact your overall health. Mild dehydration can lead to a decrease in alertness, memory and concentration problems, headaches, and reduced endurance.

To alleviate these issues, water is required! Franz is not a big fan of bottled water because most come from reverse osmosis sources that just strip the water of all its good properties. In fact, the water can almost be considered acidic. Also, Franz is not a fan of drinking products out of plastic containers. I don't care what is said about the safety of certain plastics. They leach chemicals into the products they contain. So use a good home filtration system for your drinking water and drink from a glass or a stainless steel bottle when you are away from home.

And the best part about choosing water is that water helps you lose weight! Why you ask? Well, first off, if you are properly hydrated, toxins are able to leave the body as they are supposed to, and with proper diet and exercise, proper hydration leads to maximum fat burn. And when you choose water over chemical and calorie laden drinks, that water helps you lose weight! Some people can cut three to five hundred calories a day by drinking water instead of other unhealthy choices. That can add up to one pound of fat loss in a week!

So, if you now believe water helps you lose weight, here's what you can do! Replace all the other stuff you have been drinking with water, especially at meal time. Have an eight ounce glass just before dinner and you will avoid over eating. Be sure to carry water with you all day long. Some people mistake the feeling of hunger for actually being dehydrated. If you want to add flavor to your water put lime or lemon juice in, a slice of cucumber, or watermelon. And be sure to drink water before and after exercise to replace the water lost during your workout. Otherwise you may be headed for the fridge!
