Another mistake that some dieters make is skipping breakfast. Unfortunately those who do, tend to overeat later in the day and will likely feel more lethargic. Eating breakfast means jump starting your metabolism after your overnight fast. This shifts your metabolism into top gear and helps burn calories at a faster rate. One key component that is also a part of most adults' daily breakfast routine is coffee. Coffee has long been known to boost the nervous system and keep it more alert and ready to burn more energy and calories.

Once you start a diet that benefits your metabolism, might as well put that extra energy to good use. Start an exercise regimen during your metabolism diet to burn even more calories. Start a cardio routine if you are just starting out, such as 45 to 60 minutes of brisk walking or jogging 3 or 4 times a week.
